Characterization and Antibacterial Activity Test of Green Synthetic ZnO Nanoparticles Using Avocado (Persea americana) Seed Extract

The ability of cotton fabrics to absorb water creates several problems, such as providing an environment for bacterial growth. Antibacterial properties textiles can be conducted by coating with nanoparticles antibacterial activity. This study aimed synthesize ZnO via green process using avocado seed extract (Persea americana), then characterize and evaluate its activity on fabrics. research began extracting powder distilled water. Then the was mixed Zn(CH3COO)2.2H2O heated in a bath at 70°C. mixture stirred while NaOH added until reached pH 7, 8, 9. FTIR measurement showed presence free hydroxyl amino groups that act reducing agents, capping stabilizers synthesis nanoparticles. XRD pattern synthesized hexagonal. SEM results morphology spherical, particle size 19.965 nm. carried out cloth coated nanoparticles, resulting inhibition zone 1.8 cm against E. coli 1.97 S. aureus bacteria. result indicated have producing aureus.
